CONFESSIONS

Don't be afraid, Maria,
because you found grace before God

"There are many people – and in large numbers, young people – who are approaching the sacrament of Reconciliation and who often, in this experience, find their way back to the Lord, live a moment of intense prayer and rediscover the meaning of their lives. With conviction, let us once again place the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the centre, because it allows us to touch the greatness of mercy sensibly. It will be for every penitent, a source of true inner peace" (Pope Francis, Misericordiae Vultus 17).

If you wish to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, it will be sufficient to express your intention to the parish priest. Depending on the availability of the same, confessions are made whenever people need and want.

It is the opportunity to ask God for forgiveness and to receive his mercy. A sincere confession allows the renewal of the soul and its openness to God's grace. "The sacrament of Reconciliation is a sacrament of healing. When I confess it is to heal me, to heal my soul, my heart and something evil that I have committed" (Pope Francis, Audience 19/02/2014)

Confession is a Sacrament instituted by Jesus Christ to forgive sins: "To those who forgive sins, they shall be forgiven; to those to whom you hold them, they shall be held back." John: 20.23. "Forgiveness is asked of another person, and in Confession we ask Jesus for forgiveness. Forgiveness is not the fruit of our efforts, but a gift, a gift of the Holy Spirit, which fills us with the mercy and grace that arises incessantly from the open Heart of Christ Crucified and Risen." (Pope Francis, Audience 19/02/2014)
